Crown Heights Hatzalah Ambulance Defaced With Graffiti Over Labor Day

A Crown Heights Hatzalah ambulance that normally sits in front of 770 Eastern Parkway was moved from the service lane in preparation for yesterdays parade, and wen it returned Tuesday, it had an unwanted addition.

“Help Me,” scrawled along with a crudely drawn picture had been graffitied on the side of CH-901, one of the Crown Heights ambulances designated to sit preeminently in front of 770, ready and prepared to rush on the next call for help.

This year’s Labor Day Parade was significantly muted during the first half of the day, with only a relatively small crowd in the area through mid afternoon. From there, things started heating up.

According to the police, at least two people were shot and multiple stabbed in incidents along the entire parade route, leading to a hard evening and night of police work.

While there were few incidents of violence in Crown Heights, there were multiple other more minor incidents, including a person who crashed their car into a parked vehicle, the covering of a residents car in paint, and this graffiti of a Hatzalah ambulance.

As in years past, the NYPD did a great job of securing the parade, and despite a lapse in barricade security around 770, the area remained nearly incident free.
