A Call To Shomrim, A Vandal Arrested

by CrownHeights.info

A vandal who decided to rip up a gate in front of a Shul in Crown Heights can make his excuses to a judge Tuesday after being caught in the act by Crown Heights Shomrim and arrested.

The incident took place on the corner of Schenectady Ave and Carroll Street where a Crown Heights resident noticed the man attempting to rip up a gate in front of a Shul. Within moments, multiple Shomrim volunteers were on scene and witnessed as the man ripped the gate out of its moorings and tore a large chunk of retaining wall off.

The man was soon made aware that the volunteers were there as they kept him calm and on scene while awaiting police.

“This subject was vandalizing and caused significant damage to a local Shul,” Crown Heights Shomrim wrote on social media. “Thanks to a fast response by our volunteers, he was apprehended and promptly arrested by responding @nypd71pct officers.”

When the officers arrived, they were shown video footage of the vandalism and they placed the man under arrest.
