Nearly six months after a white sedan vehicle turned the corner of Union Street and Albany Ave, striking a Lubavitcher crossing the street and breaking his leg, the driver of the vehicle has been arrested.

“Breaking: An arrest was made by @NYPDHateCrimes task force,” Crown Heights Shomrim, who broke the news, said on Twitter.

The incident took place on Friday, January 6th, at the corner of Albany Ave and Union Street around 6:00pm.

Video from the incident showed as a four door sedan drove up to the corner and stopped at the red light, only to suddenly take the turn from Albany Ave onto Union St, striking a Crown Heights businessman as he stepped into the crosswalk.

The driver of the sedan barely slowed before taking off quickly down Union Street.

Hatzalah was called and transported the injured man to the hospital where he was treated for multiple injuries with the most serious being multiple broken bones in his leg.

The NYPD took the incident very seriously, and finally was able to make the arrest.

I guess its because it was hit and run and the family name that an arrest was made

Lets see if he is released on no bail and if he goes to jail
