Repeat Shoplifter Steals Himself Into A Pair of Handcuffs in Crown Heights

by CrownHeights.info

A repeat shoplifter in Crown Heights was busted Thursday after deciding to shoplift a second time this week.

Crown Heights Shomrim received a call to their hotline regarding a man shoplifting from the Marketplace on East New York Ave. When the volunteers arrived, they heard the details of how the shoplifter had walked out of the store without paying for – yes we are not joking – an apple, but had it just been an apple, the man would likely have never been arrested.

The volunteers immediately recognized the thief from another, more prominent, shoplifting that took place earlier this week at Klein’s Grocery, and with an open police report, the outcome was already preordained.

The police arrived swiftly and placed the thief in cuffs before transporting him to the 71st Precinct.

So, was it worth getting arrested over an apple?
