Arrest Made In Cape Coral Attack on Chabad Center
A 51-year-old man has been arrested in the March attack on the Cape Coral Chabad Jewish Center that left the front door damaged and a cars windshield shattered.
Maron Mark Raymond has been identified as the man, who as previously reported, attempted to enter the Chabad Cenetr of Shabbos afternoon March 11th, yanking at the door and banging it with a brick.
The doors security held up and the man turned his attention to the Chabad Shliach’s car, shattering the vehicles windshield of Rabbi Yossi Labkowski’s sedan.
Raymond was arrested Thursday evening after a difficult investigation.
“This was a very challenging case because, unlike other cases, the video evidence that we have was not supreme and it really required a lot of boots on the ground. And through that, we developed persons of interest, ran down leads of many many vehicles that might meet the description, and served numerous search warrants,” said Cape Coral Police Chief Anthony Sizemore during a news conference.
Ultimately, Raymond was taken into custody, but the motive for the attack has yet to be announced.
