Crown Heights Teenager Arrested For Williamsburg Hate Crime

A 17-year-old Crown Heights teenager was arrested by the NYPD over an anti-Semitic hate crime perpetrated in Williamsburg in October.

According to the police, on 10/23/2022, an 18-year-old dressed in traditional Jewish garb was assaulted in Williamsburg by a perpetrator riding an electric Citibike who fled toward Willoughby Avenue.

After an extensive investigation, a 17-year-old Crown Heights resident, who remains unnamed, was arrested for two incidents that occurred on 10/22 and 10/23 when a 14 and 18-year-old, both young Jewish men, were assaulted and harassed in Williamsburg.

The news comes non the heels of a blistering report that hate crimes have surged in New York, rising 125% since last year.
