New Gang Makes An Appearance In Crown Heights, Steals Expensive Motorcycle

A new gang has made a move in Crown Heights this past week, targeting an expensive motorcycle parked behind a community member’s home.
The targeted incident took place in the early hours of Thursday morning when the gang arrived at the Montgomery Street home riding mopeds. Prepared, the gang can be seen on surveillance camera moving to the back of the home where the motorcycle was chained and covered. A heavy chain cutter was used and the motorcycle was quickly driven off.
The theft was reported to the police.
Such an incident marks a grave development in crime in the neighborhood, with gang theft being a precursor to much worse crime becoming organized.
In the past few years, package thefts have also been on the rise, with a strong belief among local community activists that the spike in thefts was partially due to an organized group operating in the neighborhood.
