Crew of Thieves Lose Their Van and Loot During Heist After Shomrim Intervened

by CrownHeights.info

Three thieves attempting to steal a moped in Crown Heights lost their loot and car in quick succession after Crown Heights Shomrim arrived and intervened.

The noon heist was first reported by an alert Shomrim volunteer who was following the trio as they attempted to make their getaway in a beat up white van. The thieves had stolen a multi-thousand dollar moped and stashed it inside their van, hoping to to make their getaway cleanly.

The van was quickly picked up by multiple volunteers who tailed the vehicle as it made its way down Utica Ave to Remsen Ave, dangerously maneuvering through traffic and breaking traffic laws.

Realizing that they were being followed, the crew stopped the van and ditched the moped before speeding off again.

While some volunteers stayed with the Moped, others continued to follow the van as they drove to the area of Church Ave, attempting to shake the volunteers by placing obstacles in the path of their vehicles.

It didn’t work.

Realizing that they had to ditch their vehicle, the crew fled on foot, losing the volunteers deep in the area of East Flatbush. In the end, the moped was recovered and the van taken by the police who responded quickly and thoroughly in collaboration with the Shomrim volunteers.

Job final, one van under arrest and three thieves hopefully having learned a valuable lesson.
