In a shocking incident Tuesday, a Jewish man was brutally beaten and robbed in Crown Heights over a minor fender bender.

According to reports, a Jewish man driving in the vicinity of Eastern Parkway and Troy Ave was involved in a minor fender bender around 8:40pm. While attempting to do the right thing, he remained on the scene and took some photos of the minor damage to the vehicles.

Two male blacks, who were in the second vehicle during the incident, became incensed over the Jewish man’s actions and began to beat him.

After breaking bones and causing significant injuries to his face, the two stole the Jewish man’s phone and fled the scene. Hatzalah was called and transported the Jewish man to Maimonides Hospital where he was being treated for his injuries.

The police were called and Shomrim was later informed of the incident. Attempts to track the stolen cell phone failed.

The incident was first reported by Crown Heights Shomrim, who Tweeted that “Another minor fender bender that ends up in a brutal assault of an elderly man sending him to the hospital. @NYPD71Pct
Detectives are handling the case with some assistance from our Volunteers. Shomrim was only notified approximately an hour after the incident.”
