Man Arrested For May Attack On Lubavitcher In Crown Heights Identified, Faces Multiple Charges

The man who assaulted a Lubavitcher on a Crown Heights Street in May now faces his crimes.

Eric Redding, 35, of Brooklyn, has been identified as the man who punched a Lubavitcher walking on President Street in Crown Heights on May 6th. The assault was unprovoked.

As previously reported on CrownHeights.info, Eric had taken offense at being passed by a Jew and punched his victim in the face while using anti-semitic slurs, sending the Jewish man to the hospital. Redding fled, but was later arrested by the NYPD in the Bronx on charges of theft.

After completing his time for those charges, Redding was rearrested for the attack and now faces the following charges: Assault/Hate Crime, Aggravated Harassment, Assault, Menacing/Hate Crime, and Menacing.
