A shooting incident at a Sunset Park Subway Station has left over five people injured Tuesday morning.

Preliminary reports indicate that a shooter, possibly wearing a MTA Transit uniform, opened fire at the 25th St and 4th Ave train station, injuring five people.

Other reports indicated that an explosive device went off at 4th and 36th street in Brooklyn, with another four undetonated devices found at the location.

The situation is fluid and a developing story. CrownHeights.info will continue to update the article as information becomes available.

Update 9:00pm: Throughout the following hours of the investigation into the shooting that occurred, a series of breaks in the case, and alarming details were uncovered.

First, it became apparent that the surveillance cameras in the subway station were not functioning, an absolutely devastating fact considering how vulnerable New York City’s Subway is.

The break in the case came when the NYPD tracked down a U-Haul van believed to have been rented by the shooter. Two stories as for how the break occurred is that either the police found a credit card at the scene of the shooting that they were able to use to identify the shooter, or that the U-Haul itself was able to allow the officers to track him down.

Either way, the shooter has been identified as Frank James, pictured below.

According to an unverified reports, James was previously known to the FBI, but had been cleared in 1019.
