UPDATED: Bronx Teen Charged In Crown Heights Murder on Empire Blvd

A teenager from the Bronx has been charged in the murder of a 45-year-old man on the steps of 568 Empire Blvd in Crown Heights on January 31st.

As previously reported n CriownHeights.info, the gruesome scene was found after 10:00am on January 31st by a Crown Heights resident walking on Empire Blvd between Lamont Court and Kingston Ave.

The shocked resident found an unconscious man in a pool of blood on the steps of 568 Empire Blvd and immediately called 911.

The police and EMS arrived to find the man already deceased from a gunshot wound. The man shot was later identified as 45-year-old Ahmad Perkins.

Kendu Skeen, 18, is accused of killing Perkins, and was arrested on Friday.

Update: According to a police source, the victim of the shooting was initially approached by two people, one of whom was Kendu Skeen, who attempted to rob him. The victim was shot when the two realized that he was also armed.
