An email was sent out Wednesday afternoon from the Bnos Menachem School in Crown Heights regarding a security incident after a mentally unstable man gained access to the building.

“Earlier this afternoon, at about the preschool dismissal time, there was a disturbance outside of school, with a deranged individual who was loitering and did not listen to the instructions from security to move from the area,” the email said.

According to witness reports, the man, who appears to be Jewish, was seen loitering with a dog near the Bnos Menachem school around 2:50pm while acting erratically.

The Schools Security called Crown Heights Shomrim and 911, who initially attempted to have the man leave the area.

Soon after, the man managed to briefly enter the schools lobby and was immediately cuffed and removed from the premises with much screaming and protest.

The man was placed inside a 911 ambulance and transported to a local hospital.

The school attempted to provide the parents with knowledge of the incident as many children were likely to have seen or heard the ruckus.

“If your daughter brings up the incident, you should be able to allay her fears and let her know that he is not near school anymore and she is safe at school,” the school wrote.

Crown Heights Shomrim also tweeted about the incident, saying “Approximately 2:50 pm our Vol’s responded to Bnos Menachem regarding an EDP acting erratic trying to gain entry into the school. The schools security team did a great job keeping the school safe until our units arrived. Great job by @NYPD71Pct. Subject transported to hospital.”
