Man Shot Outside Crown Heights Deli Sunday Night

The Deli located on the corner of East New York Ave and Albany Ave became the center of attention Sunday night after a man was shot outside, sustaining a non life threatening injury.

The shooting occurred around 12:50am the the deli and grocery store located across the street from a children’s playground, prompting a call to 911 that brought a strong response.

Residents nearby reported hearing five shots from the direction of the store followed by screaming and a large police response.

One man was shot in the thigh, and was transported to the hospital with non life threatening injuries.

The NYPD had East New York Ave from Albany to Troy shut down for the investigation into the morning commute hours.
