Jewish Man Choked, Threatened In Horrific and Shocking Assault In Crown Heights
by CrownHeights.info
It was a sudden and “shocking” assault in Crown Heights, that left a Lubavitch couple shaking Thursday night.
The young man and his wife had been returning home to their apartment at 1004 Montgomery Street at the corner of Utica Ave late Thursday night, when – as a courtesy – they held the door for a young dark skinned man who was also entering the building.
Without warning, the youth suddenly grabbed the Lubavitch mans throat, attempting to choke him in the lobby of the building.
While the victim struggled with his attacker, another dark skinned woman entered the building, approaching the wife and threatening to stab her. The wife managed to flee into the elevator, while her husband escaped the clutches of his attacker and fled up the stairs.
The attackers followed, chasing him up the flight of stairs and back down another stairwell. As the victim ran back out of the building, his attackers caught up again, pinning him against a car and threatening to stab him.
Thankfully, the screams for help were heard, and the attackers fled.
The couple were shocked and shaken, thankful that the assault did not end worse.
911 was called and the police took a report on the assault.
Crown Heights Shomrim is assisting in the incident, and reminds everyone to immediately report these incidents to 911 and Shomrim.
