Subway Attacks Increase As City Reduces NYPD Presence

A series of high profile crimes on New York City’s subways have sparked alarm just as the NYPD has reported a reduction in the city’s willingness to allow enforcement.

The crimes hit the news these past few weeks after a graphic video was released of a deranged man shoving a woman onto the tracks in front of an oncoming train. Thankfully the woman was able to lie flat in between the tracks, sparing her major injury.

Another incident occured on a northbound 4 train when another deranged man began screaming at a couple for no apparent reason before following them off the train at the Barclay’s Center. The screaming man then shoved one of the couple onto the subway tracks, again thankfully not causing serious injuries.

These incidents were also not isolated, with no less than three other major incidents reported, including an attack on an MTA employee.
