“Carreer” Porch Pirate Arrested Monday Connected With Multiple Thefts

A package thief arrested in Crown Heights Monday afternoon has been connected with a slew of such thefts in the community, and will hopefully remain in custody.

As reported on CrownHeights.info, the thief was caught red-handed by an eagle-eyed Shomrim volunteer Monday afternoon as he stole multiple packages off of a Union Street porch. The thief didn’t make it far and was stopped and arrested less than a block away.

Since then, the package thief has been tied to no less than three such porch thefts from home surveillance cameras shared with CrownHeights.info.

While a single such video is not likely to make a strong enough case to keep the thief behind bars, a larger number has in the past proven to work in some cases.
