In just ten hours Tuesday night, two shootings incidents in Crown Heights left one dead and six others shot, all in the confines of the 71st precinct.

The first incident took place around 6:30pm near the corner of Nostrand Ave and Montgomery Street. Police had initially responded to the location after being alerted by the Shot Spotter technology, but did not locate a victim. The victim, who had been shot in the forearm, drove himself to the hospital.

The second incident took place around 2:10am in front of 990 President Street, when a shooter began firing into a crowd in front of the building. A 19-year-old man was shot in the back, a 35-year-old man shot in the arm, and a 19-year-old man and 25-year-old woman, both shot in the buttocks.

Another male and female were hit as they were driving by in their vehicle. The 30 year-old male occupant of the vehicle was pronounced dead at Kings County Hospital.
