Under Arrest: Shomrim Catches Man Stealing Package On Kingston Ave

by CrownHeights.info

A man was arrested in Crown Heights Tuesday after he was caught red handed by Shomrim stealing a package from a local business on Kingston Ave.

A little before noon Tuesday, an alert Shomrim volunteer noticed a man casing out an open car on a Kingston Ave corner, waiting for the moment when the nearby owner of the vehicle would not notice.

The volunteer secured the car, and continued following the man as he made his way around the block and back onto Kingston Ave.

Soon after, the man lifted a box of expensive items from a Kingston Ave business, making his way onto Carroll Street where he opened the box and took out the merchandise.

While a group of Shomrim volunteers watched the man, another confirmed that the box was indeed stolen from the business and called 911.

The police arrived quickly, and placed the man under arrest for the theft.
