“Operation Intersection” Launched as Community Attempts to Track Down Strong Armed Package Thief (Updated 1:30PM)

A package thief that has begun targeting Crown Heights buildings struck again Wednesday night, bring his tally of Crown Heights break ins and package thefts to four confirmed hits. The thief breaks the front glass doors of the buildings with a heavy object, then enters to steal packages left unattended in the lobby’s of the buildings.

In an attempt to track down this thief, community members and landlords are attempting to track the man as he walks home with his loot. The man is described as a male wearing light colored pants and jacket, and wearing a dark colored backpack.

10:17pm: The thief shatters the front door of 529 Brooklyn Ave, and steals a package. He turns onto East New York Ave and walks towards Kingston Ave.

10:19pm: The thief is seen on camera walking midblock on the south side of East New York Ave towards Kingston Ave.

10:21pm: The thief can be seen on video turning from East New York Ave down Kingston Ave towards Maple Street.

Next Step: Which direction did he go at the intersection of Kingston Ave and Maple Street.
