Attempted Mugging in front of 770

Crown Heights, Brooklyn – At around 10:00pm a member of Anash left downstairs 770 after Maariv and as he passed the upstairs entrance he was approached by 3 Black males who demanded his money.

The would be victim quickly yelled ‘Chaptzem’ and ‘Help!’ and a large group of Bochurim and Anash came out to his assistance scaring off two of the suspects and apprehending one.

As the calls for ‘Chaptzem’ and ’Help’ were yelled the Shomrim hotline received numerous calls regarding the incident and quite a few members responded in order to assist. Police were called as well and responded in large numbers and took the perp into custody.

The victim described his attackers to CrownHeights.info as two very large Black males in their early 20’s and the one that was apprehended who appeared to be no older then 16. He said that they approached him and demanded his money with the threat to use violence, and he right away called for help which scared them off.

Police took the teen into custody but without handcuffs and it is unknown at this time if any charges were brought against the suspect.

In case of an emergency always call 911 and Shomrim at (718) 774-3333 24/7 immediately after an incident happens. If you witness such an incident DO NOT hesitate to call!

    I saw someone hold up a cell phone and say: ”I’m getting your photos and calling the police.” The criminals ran away very fast!

    My son was also accosted by 3 young blacks, on Thursday at 1 in the AFTERNOON on Montgomery & Albany.
    They really ARE audacious!
    2 were caught & they’re waiting for a trial- no one posted their bail.

    Is the situation getting back to 1970’s when we were scarred to leave home at night? Tried to walk in groups, etc. etc. One good thing is that police respond to 911, not like then when they showed up at least half hour later.

    guy’s ther is one thing that avryone shuld know now it is the time that the shvartses come out and mug peaple steal things or just hurt peaple its the summer time when its nice out side so its ezey tomug and to run away i sugest that anyone who see’s a shvartse or a mexican doing anything suspichis even if he’s harmlesly fixing a tire to a bike when its chand to the poll and ther is something around that makes you think that he is stealing or example ther is a hand truk next to him call shomrim right away at 718 774 3333

    Wait a minute! The teen gets no hand cuffs but when bochurim get accused faulty by blacks they do go in hand cuffs?

    Systematically the New York City Police Department is do a lot of sweeping under the rug.

    The NYPD in general has been doing this for the past 5 year cause the precinct commander’s want to look like crime is down but it really isn’t true, crime is up and the bloomburg administration keeps saying crime down, but he is just lying to you, me and the future generation of this city.

    And it’s a lie that they are short on personal, they are just bluntly lying to you.

    We need a better community relationship but it’s not going to happen with the current administration.

    what’s the point of calling police if they aren’t doing anything? they come 1/2 hr. later, and even when they catch a crook, he’s not even handcuffed! these police aren’t any help…I wouldn’t bother calling them in the first place

    I WAS THERE THAT NIGHT AND THE “VICTIM” TOLD POLICE THAT THE GUYS HAD MASKS ON THEIR FACES AND THAT THEY DID NOT SAY ANYTHING TO HIM BUT HE THOUGHT THEY WERE ABOUT TO ROB HIM..HE TURNED AND YELLED, THEY RAN AND THE GUY IN THE PICTURE MADE BELIEVE THAT HE WAS BEING CHASED BY THEM WHEN HE WAS CAUGHT… BUT “VICTIM” WAS NOT ASKED FOR ANYTHING..(THEY DID NOT HAVE TIME) KID IN PIC SAID THE OTHER BLACKS ASKED HIM FOR MONEY AND HE RAN FROM THEM…GOOD STORY BUT PROBABLY NOT TRUE…

    Looking back at this……Desperate people do desperate things. It’s important to let these trouble makers know that they have more than someone living in a 3rd world county could ever want in there live and should be happy with what they have. And if you are not, work towards a goal an don’t be so terrible to others to gain something.
