2 Shot in Pre-Labor Day Violence; 1 Dead

Last night, Sunday, during the pre-Labor Day Parade ‘J’ouvert’ celebrations in and around Crown Heights, police responded to two shootings, one of which was fatal.

The first incident happened at 8:48pm, when police found a man with a gunshot wound to the head on Herkimer Pl. in Bed-Stuy. He was rushed to Kings County Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Later last night at 11:16pm, police responded to a shooting at St. John’s Place and Schenectady Avenue in Crown Heights.

In that incident, at least one man was shot in the chest and was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.

No arrests have yet been made in either incident.

    where are their leaders, don’t they prepare them for this? Teach them the value of life. someone is too afraid to stop this parade. if you look at the history of this parade, it has WAY too many murders to deserve to continue. and why do they do it in residentiel neighborhoods, why not give them Prospect Park or something. This is just a joke, and politicians are keeping it up to either get votes, payoffs, or something. there is nothing much positive about this. Mind you, there are some good and decent people in the parades, but still……

    what leaders? they are Hooligans & there was probably a few more incidents I thought they weren’t supposed to start until this morning The parade should be permanently moved from Ch But we have no real leaders at least ones that have a set.

    Suppose such I think would Chas Vesholom happen by the Lag Baomer – the City would never allow to have the parade next year. However if this happens by Labor Day (year in year out), its normal and ok to continue.

    This article is misleading. Neither of these shooting took place where the early morning party was held or near the parade on Eastern Parkway which did not start until11:00 AM Shooting are unfortunate but it is not clear they were at all related to the parade. Let try to get the fact straight before criticizing the Wet Indian community

    the only thing you need to knew its that every parade brings from 3 to 14 dead bodies. (also media always forget to include those that dye next days from injuries)

    but despite this only important fact Democrats like to help to AAs kill each other. and those 3-14 black lives obviously do not matter for black politicians either
