Man Accused of Assaulting Women Arrested

Police say they’ve arrested the man who allegedly followed home and tried to force himself on four women within several hours during one night earlier this month in Crown Heights.

With just minutes separating each attack, police say the man went from building to building in Crown Heights following, threatening, and attacking each of his four victims.

The women were all able to fight off the six-foot tall suspect, but police hoped to find him before he struck again.

The first incident happened at around 2:00am inside a building near Albany Avenue and Sterling Place.

The suspect followed a 22-year-old woman into her building and pushed her inside her apartment when she opened the door. He then placed his hand over her mouth, dragged her down to the floor, and groped her. He told her he had a knife and would kill her if she didn’t keep quiet.

The victim fought back and kneed the perpetrator in the groin. He then fled the apartment and out of the building.

About an hour later, the man followed a 32-year-old woman into an apartment building on Dean Street and Nostrand Avenue. When she got out of the elevator on the fifth floor, he came up to her from behind, put his hand over her mouth and tried to assault her, but she pushed him away and he fled.

Police say two more women later filed reports that they were victimized by the same perpetrator that night, bringing the total of alleged victims to four.

His reported arrest brings a sigh of relief to women across the neighborhood.
