Burglars Strike twice at Chabad House
Pasadena, CA — A Jewish synagogue in Pasadena was burglarized Tuesday and again the following day, a police lieutenant said.
An unknown number of burglars entered the Chabad of Pasadena Synagogue and Jewish Community Center in the 1000 block of Walnut Avenue early Tuesday and made off with about $500 in cash, said Pasadena police Lt. Randell Taylor.
The break-in was reported around 7 a.m., he said.
A similar burglary — in which a number of collectible stamps and antiques were stolen — was reported at 6:52 Wednesday, he said.
In both cases, thieves entered through a window on the building’s south side, he said. The window apparently was not secured following the first burglary, he said.
Authorities are not treating either break-in as a hate crime, Taylor added.
