Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a 17-year-old boy that took place in Crown Heights, Brooklyn early Tuesday.

Officers were called to St. Marks Avenue around 1:20 a.m., where they found Darius Robinson with one gunshot wound to the torso.

Sources said someone drove up in a SUV and opened fire into a crowd of people on the street.

They say it appears the teen was not the intended target.

Robinson was taken to Interfaith Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

His cousin, Barson Harkless, said the teen was just a regular guy.

“Darius is for a me a ballplayer, chill, parties, like regular stuff, regular teenage stuff,” the relative said.

No arrests have been made.

    Dear S.O.S. Volunteers,

Early Tuesday morning a 17 year old boy was shot and killed on St Marks Ave between Nostrand Ave and New York Ave. Even though this is outside the S.O.S. catchment area, we are asking you to stand together with your neighbors to say violence is not normal and we can work together for a safer block, a safer neighborhood & a safer Brooklyn.

Please join us tomorrow, Wednesday 8/22 at 6pm on St Marks Avenue between Nostrand and New York for a show of support to the residents of the block and the family of the victim.

Let’s come together to heal and create positive change. We hope to see you tomorrow.

no wonder he died, they took him to interfaith hospital. This place is the sorriest excuse for a hospital. Ive brough critical patients there and have been either ignored or just told to wait because they are “busy”. I wouldnt take my enemy there.

What a tragedy, but this life in New York. Remember New York under Mayor Bloomberg has one of the toughest anti gun laws in the nation, but the ki9lling goes one

  • Will always love and remember Darius

I have know Darius and his Family all his life. Darius was a loving, kind, happy, bright and beautiful young man. He comes from a very good and caring family. He had alot of support and love from his family and close friends. Darius died in vain and he will never be forgotten.
