This Man Wanted for Shooting of 12-Year-Old

The NYPD is seeking the public’s assistance with the whereabouts of Gerald Spears, who is wanted in connection with the shooting of a man and a 12-year-old boy in crown Heights.

The Circumstances are as follows:

On Monday, May 21, 2012 at approximately 7:30, Police responded to a 911 call of persons shot inside of 298 Utica Avenue within the confines of the 71 Precinct. Upon arrival, officers observed a Black Male aged 12 with a gunshot wound to the leg and a Black Male aged 34 with a graze wound to the arm.

EMS also responded to the location and transported the victims to Kings County Hospital, where they were listed in stable condition. A Black Male aged 45 was arrested at the scene and a .9mm handgun was recovered from the scene. A second suspect, Black Male aged 23, fled location prior to arrival of Police. The investigation is ongoing.

The following individual has been arrested and charged in regards to the above listed incident:

Kenneth Meeks, Black Male aged 45, 60 East 93 Street

Charges: Assault, Criminal Possession of a Weapon – Firearm, Reckless Endangerment.

The second suspect Gerald Spears is described as a Black Male aged 23, 5’05 in height, 180 lbs, with short black hair.

    Some poor mother and father will never get to see their sweet son ever again.

    No one died (yet) from this shootin, “some poor father and mother” will get to see their sweet son again. Besides, who picks up prescriptions in a shoe store anyway?
