Good Detective Work Results in the Apprehension of Two Assailants
Good old detective work lead to the apprehension of the two teenage girls who attacked an 11-year-old boy on his way to school Monday morning.
Sources in the police department told CrownHeights.info that detectives from the 71st precinct ‘developed’ information relating to the assault of the 11-year-old boy, who was hit in the head with a bag by a teenage black girl.
The incident occurred on Monday morning at around 9:15 on Brooklyn Avenue, between Lefferts and East New York Avenues, near the Beis Rivkah elementary school building. Hatzlah, Shomrim and police responded to the incident and attempted to locate the assailants.
Detectives from the 71st precinct figured out the identity of the potential suspects after checking which students arrived late to school at I.S. 61, which is on the corner of Empire and New York and just one block away from where the incident occurred.
Detectives from the Hate Crimes Task force brought the two suspects in and the victim positively identified the attackers, noting that it was only one of them who assaulted him. She is being held on charges of aggravated harassment.
Sources said that she will probably be released with a juvenile report being filed.
The method used by detectives to identify suspects in the assault is strongly reminiscent of the same tactic employed by Deputy Inspector John Lewis, the former commanding officer of the 71st precinct, who used this method to identify, capture and arrest a mugger who stole a cell phone back in May of 2012.
Wednesday Morning volunteers from Shomrim ‘staked-out’ the vicinity where the assault occurred and spotted two girls walking to school, one of whom bore a very strong resemblance to the description given by the victim – notably the red streaks in the bangs of her hair. Shomrim shared the photo with detectives, along with the information that they were seen entering the public school on Empire and New York.

Wow. Good. Work. To all those involved
out of control!!
Finally some progress! but since this girl is in elementary school, she is getting off easy. They need to find the older teens who have been assaulting and terrorizing our neighborhood. They MUST to be used as an example and get large sentences to show what will happen to anyone who ‘plays knockout’!! this madness has got to stop.
darchei
they only went after this because of darchei of it was a BR girl they wouldn’t care less
.
what a ridiculous and immature comment

Lets hope there wont be a revolving door for these juveniles.
So what happens now?
They arrest her and then let her go without any type of discipline? Nothing? Not even community service?
I’m sure they are veeeery ashamed about what they did…..NOT.
Any Better Ideas?
Would you prefer they send her to prison to receive training from hardened criminals?

Wondering why a delegation doesn’t go to Cuomo to ask him to speak out publicly against these stupid and dangerous “knock out” games. Hopefully, such action is already in the works.

While some are sitting around a table “talking” about how we need to do something (by talking), others (Shomrim) are out in the streets taking action.
Faces
Why are there faces blurred?
wasting or money
Why do they put in all this time, effort and money to catch these girls if they’ll just let them go? It’s better if they don’t catch them at least they’ll be afraid of getting caught. Now they have nothing to be scared of since they just get sent home with a warning.

MORE TACTICS PLEASE
also, the schools are certainly aware of these kids coming in looking like they’re dealing with abuse and neglect. maybe the teachers are afraid to report it? I’d look into that, since usually, people don’t just turn into someone who would do this, they are the result of an inappropriate home (non-home) environment. More must be done. Does anyone care about these children from their community? If they cared, maybe there would be less violence
