Photos: Police Search for Ditched Firearm

Last night police were alerted that a man was publicly wielding a gun on Union St. near Schenectady Ave.

When police arrived the man fled, apparently ditching his firearm in the yard of one of the nearby homes.

The police apprehended the man, who was charged with resisting arrest, but were unable to locate the gun that prompted the 911 call.

A helicopter was summoned to provide light as several officers scoured the area for the missing firearm. It is unclear if it was found as of yet.
