Two Minors Apprehended by Shomrim for Shoplifting
CROWN HEIGHTS [CHI] — Two young teenagers walked into Sterling Electronics this afternoon with the intention of ripping them off, only the sharp eyed store workers spotted them stuffing their pockets with electronics and called Shomrim.
The underage teens were approximately fourteen to sixteen years old.
Shomrim called 911 within moments of receiving the call, followed by a number of additional times at the scene itself and police still took over ten minutes to respond to the incident.
Once on scene the cops handled the situation properly, offering the owner not to press charges in consideration of their age, but a steadfast owner refused to back down saying “if we let them go now they will go on to other stores and bigger crimes.”
Police let one of the two go since he did not actually put any items in his pocket, unlike his friend who did.
While Shomrim was waiting for police to arrive one customer – an elderly black lady – who happened to be in the store while the incident was going on began making a fuss and saying that the store owners should let them go. One of the store clerks asked her if she was related to the suspects she answered “yes, I am, by the color of our skin”.

at least someone is pressing charges! and as to what the lady said about the color of the skin, we can all learn from her if we would treat each other chassidim with the same love

The ol’ black female was an accomplace- distract the store clerk while the grankiddies go “shopping”.

The black lady was NOT making a fuss. She was not an acomplice either. She was actually very polite and honest and just trying to help to kids who were in trouble. Thank you Simcha, Sterling Electronics.

For the record these kids will not sit in jail at all they will be bought to the precinct questioned for a while then if they plead guilty they will be given about a $200 fine and sent home….. After 3 similar offences they may go to jail…….so now they need $200 and their momma ain’t given them that……….anyone catch my drift? Let the kids go and make a kidush Hashem
