8 Year Old Boy Beaten on President St.

A very disturbing incident took place at around 10:00 pm, where a 8 year old boy was assaulted, both physically and mentally in front of his house on President St. between Schenectady and Utica. The incident began while the young boy was helping with bringing bags from the family’s car into the house when a group of 3 Black males grabbed him from behind and pulled him down the stairs and punched him in the head. Shomrim were called and responded immediately and began canvassing the area.

The first member on scene spoke to the boy, who was a bit shaken and had slight swelling under his eye where he was struck, got a description of the perps who were described between the ages of 10 to 12 and were walking with a small dog who was not on a leash, the description was quickly given over and many members began canvassing the area, police were notified as well and responded to the boys house within minutes.

Patrolling Shomrim members and Police foot posts identified a few groups with the description and the officers that responded to the boy’s house took the boy and his father to the location where the groups were in order to identify them, none of the groups were positively identified.

The Officers then brought the kid back home and filed a police report. The incident is not being listed as a bias crime as there were no racial slurs directed at the boy according to both his father’s and his own account.

We would like to thank both Shomrim and the fine Officers who handled this call professionally and with due regard. Unfortunately the perps were not apprehended. We would like to warn member of the community take extra care to be more aware, if you become the victim of a crime C”V do not hesitate to call both Shomrim at (718) 774-3333 and 911.

    Honestly, any comment is useless, simply because nobody does anything except talk.

    We depend on the police for our safety. They aren’t here any more. One month was enough for them.

    And again and again and AGAIN, our elected "Community leaders" have let us down.

    Meanwhile, women & kids are being attacked, sometimes very viciously. There’s a lawlessness that hasn’t been seen in years.

    Where are those Shomrim cars? All that fuss, pictures and all, but no action.

    nobody cares. We need to accept this & think about taking the law into our own hands, because it’s not in anyone we’re supposed to trust & rely on.

    then maybe we can take back our neighborhood & make this a safe place to live. Can’t someone get some help from Williamsburg? I bet they’d help patrol, they have their neighborhood really secure! Women with strollers walk all around very late at night. THEY’RE safe!

    To attack a little boy…what’s next? I can only imagine.

    this is too close to home, not only cant i handle the politics and the fact that we canr afford homes because we have driven the prices in to the sky now i have to be concerned when my kids leave the house too that nothing should happen…. whats this town coming to there is nothing special about it anymore personally i will be looking into moving somewhere else c.h. is not what it used to be in many ways what a shame

    Were these kids ever in any juvenile centers (incarcerated)? The authorities view them as "children". These "children" aren’t "children" any more. Something must be done.
    Interesting to hear the Torah viewpoint. According to the Torah, at the time of a high murder rate a non-Jew doesn’t need a warning or witnesses (if suspected of murder). Strong cicumstantial evidence is enough to enact the death penalty. S
    o what about young non-Jewish boy and girls engaged in violence? Severe penalties? If the government doesn’t act justly we can take the law into our own hands.

    Perhaps when The Pledge of Allegiance is said it should end in a question?

    it’s distrubing that there is no contact between jews and goyim on that block. if there were then with in minutes jews would know who the perps are.the key to survival in the hood is talk to your non-jewish neighbors. black folks also want a quiet safe neighborhood.they’ll share information with you, it’s to their advantage.

    You are living in dreamland. Maybe you want to have contact with these animals, I definitely don’t, nor does anyone else living over there. The black folks that want a safe quiet nighborhood dont live in this neighborhood. ALll we have is hoodlums. One possible answer is to have the much spoken about, long waited for, high quality cameras on every block.

    Further, I think they are trying to scare the Jews out of Crown Heights. If they attack enough people, they think maybe we’ll go away.

    Every block where we live needs TWO MEN walking up and down the street, with phones poised in hand, ready to call the ‘city’s finest’ and Shomrim – at the smallest provocation.

    TWO Residents on each block should volunteer 2 hour shifts from nightfall till midnight to be the eyes on duty to protect our Yidden.

Plus, how do you know that those violent creeps didn’t come from out of the neighborhood. Meir, please don’t blame the family, they are suffering enough.     Concerned Crown Heightser- I feel for you, but remember, the solution isnt running away from CH. That would be in clear violation of the Rebbe, although you should obviously speak to your Mashpia and not take it from me.
    This was the exact reason why the HUGE Jewish community of CH in the early years fled. The Rebbe screamed and begged to stay saying you cant let a community diminish. It is our Mesiras Nefesh, and we will also be protected.
    Yeah, these things are happening, but we have the Rebbe’s Brocho and Kan Tzivah, so who’s to say its happening cuz its in CH? Maybe it would’ve CH"V happened had it been somewhere else.

    It didn’t sound like Meir was trying to place blame as much as he was saying that the non-Jewish residents on that block probably want peace as much as the Jews (for the most part), and if everyone works together, maybe those people will be caught quicker because they certainly don’t come from our community, so maybe the (the neighbors) would be better off helping. Whew, talk about a run on sentence!

    AS soon as you fools in crown heights learn to live with EACH OTHER & HAVE RESPECT & AHAVAS YISROEL FOR EACH OTHER, all of your goyishe neighbors will leave you alone. The Rebbe said many times that the way we act, affects what in turn happens to us. I feel bad for the boy, but you clown heightsers are all ‘winners’ and get no sympathy from me!     this is not a joke. messing with an eight year old chlild could leave him hurt for the rest of his life. the kid survived a fear, and is broken. it takes years to heal.

    you miss the point.i’m not saying it’s the victums fault, that’s nuts. i’m saying information needs to be shared. the street is black that’s real.there are home owners who are black. they want quiet.if you look at all your neighbors as "animals" and you depend on the police or cameras or two man patrols then you’ll never solve the problem. there are too many streets to patrol and not men to patrol. you need help. self defense of course but neighbors sharing information is the only way.

    the yoyo that stated time to move out of CH is just that a playful yoyo. My close friend was mugged a few days ago in Flatbush and a neighbors bike was stolen in broad daylight – kid was 9 years old give me a break, also in Boro Park I hear of this stuff too. It is all over the same garbage you won’t be safer anywhere else on THE CONTRARY.

    I do agree with the others you mention achdus and all the other issues can’t be helping this serious problem at all. For pikuach Nefesh they should all just fall into line and stop all the nareshkeit. YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!!!!!!

    There must be something done about all the recent rise of crime in our neighborhood
    if they want to live amongst us they need to act accordingly or action will be taken.
    Our hearts go out to all the families who have had to suffer from all these ongoing crimes
