A burglar broke into Albany Bakery on Kingston Avenue and spent a considerable amount of time in the store before making off with two safes and cash.

A burglar broke into Albany Bakery on Kingston Avenue and spent a considerable amount of time in the store before making off with two safes and cash.

The incident occurred on Thursday, March 24th at around 3:00am. Surveillance cameras shows the burglar – a hulking black man – gain entry after spending some time on the front door lock, and while on his cell phone he makes his way around the store.

He first attemped to get into the cash drawers of the registers, but was unsuccessful, and instead found some cash boxed in the back office.

Police were called and a report was filed.

    Only problem with the video is you can see the robbers tuchas better than you can see his face. It looks like someone he is on the phone with is directing him where to look.

    why no alarm? one without the other is pointless. Alarm would have helped thwart the attempt and notified police (slow response) and owner (quicker response with Shomrim), and cameras would have verified the incident is actually taking place, and then bring proof to court after the arrest or for insurance.

    If you look close at the robber walking..he is on a cell phone…and it looks as if his hand is white…so I dont think he is a black male at all. I think it could be an inside job as well.

    My gut and training as a Certified Fraud Examiner tells me it was an inside job.
    Consider these points;
    1. He knew where the security cameras were, taking great pains to be shielded from them at all times
    2. He knew where to find the safes, and how to open the cash register.
    3. He knew there were no alarms.
    4. HE DID NOT TAKE ANY PUSHKAS !!!

    I hope I am wrong.
    I am sure Arlans had a better anti-theft system than they had.

    if you look real well at one point when the ganiff is behind the counter you could actually see his face if you freeze the frame when you see his face looking quickly at the mirror. looks real lol

    I think the view of the ceiling is brilliant, oh and the cameras are very level. I hope shop owner makes the guys who installed the cameras will be held accountable.

    we have Fingerprints, Facial recognition, and DNA used in forensics, i think it’s time to implement a fourth one.

    a camera should be always directly facing the registars at all angles especially the entrances and exits. Why leave any money in the store.. maybe install a drop safe… ??
    leave only change and the cash register open so they know there isnt anything there…. DUH!!!!

    #1 Who left the door open?
    #2 Who told him exactly where the box was tuckt away?
    #3 Who told him exactly how to block his face from the cams
    #4 Who got him soo lucky to know that the door was open? & that the door will remain open??!
    HOW DID HE KNOW HE WONT GET LOCKED INSIDE 2min after he entered?

    inside job – 100%. were all the workers – current or prior – questioned. Obviously he was getting exact instructions from his cell buddy. Hopefully they will be put away as cell buddies for a long time to come. Was he wearing a glove on his right hand? or are tehre fingerprints?

    Clearly to me this looks like the thief knew where cameras where as well as safe. And he doesn’t look black, when he bends down his bare skin is shown and it appears to be a white back not black.
