CROWN HEIGHTS [CHI] — On this car the thief’s didn’t bother with its wheels, they went for the entire interior. Homeowners who use the alleyway behind their homes on President and Carroll Streets found that they couldn’t exit from the Troy side because of a stripped car blocking their path.
The car was found early this morning missing nearly all its removable parts, not including its engine and wheels. The car, a late model Infinity, was dumped sometime last night.
This incident marks a significant escalation in auto related crime in our neighborhood in the last few months.

WHY IS THIS HAPPENING TO US ?? WHERE ARE THE COPS WHO DO NOTHING ABOUT ANYTHING ? THIS IS NOT NORMAL!! WHAT IS GOING ON OVER HERE ?? WE HAVE TO STOP THIS ONCE AND FOR ALL !!!! (AT LEAST THEY LEFT THE TIRES, NOT LIKE LAST TIME)!!!!

Those parts (doors,hood,trunk,etc) fetch a good price at any chp shop…
They probably did not have the equipment to remove the engine at the time…They would no doubt come back later for that…
A used car is worth more sold off piece by piece rather than as a whole…
Some models like the Infinity are ripe for this type of crime as their parts are in demand…
It just goes to show you how the streets are patrolled by our guys in blue…
They are careful to ticket you for parking,etc… but when it comes to anything requiring watchful eyes .. they are the criminal’s best friend…
See no evil… etc…and they are quick to defend their stupidity and laziness…
