This past Motzoi Shabbos, late at night a vigilant Crown Heights family spared themselves from being victims of a burglar.



CROWN HEIGHTS [CHI] — Late Motzoi Shabbos, a child sleeping at a Crown Heights home woke to find a second floor window open. He called on his father, who immediately understood what was going on and took action. The father woke one of his sons and together they started to search the home.

The family found a man lurking about, trying to burglarize their home. They attempted to throw him out and a scuffle ensued, with the the burglar yelling that he had a gun. However the father son duo overpowered him, searched for the weapon and didn’t find any. The robber was thrown out bruised and without pants.

Police were called and the perpetrator was immediately arrested. The burglar was protested, saying he was beaten and the family should be arrested. Thankfully there were no other arrests.

Upon further investigation the Police found; the burglar entered the house by climbing on top of a minivan in the driveway and pried open an improperly locked window.

    The family was in their own house. In their own house they have no legal obligation to retreat, and legally could have killed him if they feared for their own lives.

    The gonef demands that his burglary victims be arrested for roughing him up when he was caught in the act. What a piece of dirt!

    The reason why they wear 2 pairs of pants b/c when they are doing a crime so if 1 falls off they they dont have to put it back on they just run.
    Well may be they are cold in the winter who knows

    About time the CH Keystone Kops got it right and arrested the right one. Of course a guy running around in his shorts might have given them a clue.

    They should nail them up in front of their house as a warning.

    what you are referring to is called the castle law and as an attorney you should know that the castle law only allows you to straight out kill the guy in states like alabama, but in ny if you kill the guy you would need to prove that it was the only option . so in this case when it was two against one if they had killed him unless they had OJs lawyer they would be in the slammer for 20 years

    If you share a driveway with anather family don’t put your car there so some one could climb up and come right into your house the only way that you could put a car in the driveway if both houses have bars on the windows.DONT TAKE THAT CHANCE IT FOR YOUR SAFTY.
