Three Banks Robbed this Afternoon

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — This afternoon three banks were robbed, two of which were in Crown Heights. The first robbery took place at 2:50pm on Fulton Street and Bedford Avenue in Bedford Stuyvesant, and the robber fled in a livery cab to another bank which he robbed as well, followed by another robbery.

The suspect fled the first robbery in a livery cab and arrived at the Bank of America on Eastern Parkway and Kingston Avenue at around 3:20pm and robbed it and fled once again in a livery cab to a third bank, Chase on Empire Boulevard and Nostrand Avenue.

In the last robbery the teller slipped a ‘dye-pack’ into the bag with the money which exploded just a block from the bank, scattering money all over street and covering the robber in brown dye paint.

A police helicopter was seen flying over Crown Heights throughout the afternoon, as numerous police cars and detectives investigated the robbery spree. The suspect managed to flee in to the subway and evaded arrest.

    I don’t get how he/they got away! I was once on a train and they stopped it for 40min cuz someone robbed another person – and this is a bank – they couldn’t stop the train???

    The robber din’t git any money from bank of america. He was a scardy pants and fled before getting caught. I was there and locked in as well for a good some time.
