this kid is so weird. and confusing. when they do it in their youth, they do it later on too

  • that boy needs a hug

I feel so bad for that kid. If only he had guidance and positive support system he might have a chance. I hope (but highly doubt) that those who confronted him didn’t just scream at him but tried to help him realize that he can be much better than that…

  • Feel bad

    poor boy!
I Just hope he will be taken care of and grow out of this!

Needs a hug??? He needs a potch in ponim! Maybe if he had a father around to guide him & a mother who cared & he isn’t being dragged up by a tired grandma he may have a chance. But sympathy for a thug-in-training? Today it’s a kid’s bike. Next week it’s mugging a Chassidishe mother pushing a stroller, or breaking into YOUR house/car.

If YOU think he’s a poor, deprived, sweet little boy with potential, YOU be mashpia on him. Better yet, be mashpia on some of OUR boys who drift aimlessly & who “can be much better than that”. Charity begins at home, & if you’re such a do-gooder, DO GOOD BY OUR YOUTH!!!

Shomrim, you’re bigger & faster than him. Why didn’t you catch him again & let the cops put the fear of G-d into the little runt?

  • ah yid fuin shcunah

yea he can be the pres, of the usa. be nice to he may give crown hights vadd $$$$ when he make it in washington lol

  • moshe der goilam

yes we should hug him (for stealing0 and maybe rewrd him by buying him his own bike

then when he gets older and steals your car we will hug him again and buy him a car

  • That boy needs a shirt

I also feel so bad for that kid, he probably stole the bike to buy a fitted brand-name shirt, and possibly also contribute $8 dollars to green-peace. I also hope and highly doubt that those who confronted him sat him down and gave him an hourly long DR. Phil styled session on potential and self esteem.

In all seriousness, the above post reeks of liberal minded tolerance for crime. As we have seen in the past, being soft and playing by the rules unfortunately leads to the criminals (in this case a 10 year old boy who shamelessly stole a bike) taking advantage of others with complete disregard for decency. Criminals thrive on the indulgence of society’s understanding.

That boy should have been held until the police arrived, he had committed a crime and by allowing him to run off crying and not experiencing any repercussions from his act, what exactly has he learned? At the very least that boy should have beed taken to his parents and they should have been informed on what he had done, he and his parents should have returned the bike to the child it was taken from with an apology. What this child did is not normal or acceptable behavior, small crimes do escalate to larger crimes.
I feel bad for the child who had his bike taken from him.

  • prepare yourselves

    Butzin Mkatfei Ydia
You can see in a youngster what will grow from him

They should have made a report and taken his information.
In a few years they might be able to find bigger things like car and home burglary!

Also its good to find out who is his “mother” that lets him bring stolen bikes in her home.

  • Tzurik tzu dem chain gang...

The city needs to provide age appropriate activities for these kids. Chain gangs come to mind.

  • hey ppl

maybe the kid doesn’t have a father around, but at the same time, maybe his mom is working 2 or three jobs to make rent and to put food on the table. Maybe not. But, this is the time where patient adults have to explain to this boy that the owner of the bycicle would be sad for a long time because his bike was stolen, and that his parents worked hard to buy that bycicle.

We need to smarten up asap. It’s not our job to raise these ignorant little children who are learning from their older brothers and sisters how to steal and shoplift, nonetheless, if we want to ensure a safe and secure future, we must do something asap.

  • mmmm

speaking to the kid is really great. sitting to farbreng about the evils of stealing is teriffic. before he does it.

now for better or for worse he lives in the real world. in the real world people who steal bikes get prosecuted. in the real world people who walk into traffic get killed. it’s not his fault – it’s the system, his parents etc… but this is the real world and that’s the way it works.

at least, that’s the way it’s supposed to work!

I believe a night in jail would give a nice lesson to this kid. If we have brought this kid to his parents (who knows if he has father, maybe he never knew him), they r probably very proud of this kid’s act, cause this is what they teach them. unfortunately this is the society that surrounds the c.h. jewish community. this only gets fixed with the years. showing them the consequences could be a solution. lots of documentals about the life in jail could make them think a bit.
