CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — A wild police chase ended on a Crown Heights sidewalk and the arrest of the driver of a stolen van.

The incident began in the 70th Precinct in Flatbush where a ‘Dollar-van’ was stolen and taken for a joyride, police chased the van right through the 67th Precinct in East Flatbush and into the 71st Precinct where the van came to a stop after it crashed into the gate of Mosdos Day Care Center.

Miraculously the chase did not injure anyone, and the side walk and gated area was clear when the van careened into it. After the crash the driver attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended on Brooklyn Avenue and East New York following a short pursuit.

One officer suffered an injury to his wrist and was treated.

    whats with that corner on NY ave and Lefferts. There have been quite a few accidents in these few months in that spot and near it.
    Remember when a fire truck smashed into Mosdoth Day Care center?

    Time out..A “DNA Lab Center” van is not a dollar van.

    If a Jew reported it as a stolen “dollar van” Simonetty will arrest him/her for reporting false information and let the perp go with an apology.

    Do u mean scamanetti. Wow I thought the NYPD is prohibited from doing car chase in the city, unless this person kill someone or was involved in injuring a police officer

    It seems that if he would not crash, he may have gotten away even with this MARKED CAR.
    I wounder how they ever catch stolen cars? (maybe they do other things like take reds etc.)
