Bochur Assaulted, Police don’t File Report

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — A Bochur was assaulted earlier this afternoon, on St. Johns Place and Brooklyn Avenue. As the Bochur was walking he was attacked from behind, by a Black male who put him in a headlock and broke his glasses.

This bizarre attack was only made stranger, by the fact that the perpetrator didn’t try to take anything from the Bochur. He didn’t demand and anything or even say anything to him, during the entire incident.

The Bochur managed to break free after a few seconds and run away.

The Bochur then called 911, but what happened next only added insult to injury. Police officers from the 71st Precinct responded to where the Bochur fled to, Eastern Parkway and New York Avenue. When the Bochur told them where he was attacked took place, the police said that they couldn’t file a report because it happened in the 77th Precinct, and they told the Bochur that officer from that precinct will respond and they left.

After waiting for over 20 minutes the Bochur just left the scene, and no report was filed.

wow! im so impressed that the bachur got away – we need to train all our bochrim to be able to fight for themselves.

  • hmm

i think the 77th and 71st should over lap instead of the white line as a separation in middle making countless arguments in between fellow officers, the 77th should end on the 770 side up till the houses, and the 71st should end on the kehos side till the houses, first responding officer then takes charge

As the one assaulted I would like to publicly thank those parties who came to my aid. They made me feel better and more confident when I spoke with the police. Thank you again and keep up the good work!!!!!!

Tip: always be alert and aware of your surroundings especially behind you. Be calm, try to get a good look of the bad guy and call officials immediately.
P.S. A special thank you to see view optical for helping me with my glasses .

Hmm, interesting. Can I safely assume that if I were to commit a traffic offense in the 71st precint the 77th would’nt pursue it?! Do’nt bet on it!

    Dear Assaulted,

What advice can you give to us parents who now worry about our boys in Crown Heights?

  • Why bother?

It says “NYPD” on the car … the police who showed up should have handled the incident until the correct precient arrived. It’s sad that commissioner kelly and little michael bloomberg do such a poor job of overseeing the police department. They put on a big media show for high profile events, but day to day quality of life events don’t attract the interest of the police officers. It’s too much like work but their is no TV camera for them to get the PR that they love … Very sad … very unprofessional!
