Suspected Gun-run Nabs One for Possession of Illegal Narcotics

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — Late Friday afternoon, a young Black man aroused the suspicion of a Police foot-patrol on Lefferts Avenue, prompting a short chase and the arrest of the individual for possession of narcotics with the intent to sell.

What caught the officer’s eye is what he suspected was a gun, and although there was no gun, the suspect ran when the officer tried to stop him. The chase began at the corner of Lefferts and Schenectady and ended inside of 740 Empire Boulevard.

As the cop ran into the building, a few police officers stayed outside. A small scale and other items were thrown out one of the windows, by the suspect, narrowly missing the cops. The scale was a miniature one, commonly used to measure small amounts of narcotics for distribution.

In an area rife with the sale of illegal narcotics, residents hailed the arrest and hope more will follow. One resident told CrownHeights.info that thugs hang out on the corners looking for buyers, scaring passersby. “It is dangerous to walk by this area at night,” she said, adding that she wishes police would pay more attention to the area like the foot patrol do.

I watch cops shows all the time! It makes me so want to get into action when I get older. I’m getting my weapons ready in Crown Heights for only my safety. I first want a permission from the Crown Heights cops. By the way, is this recess outside, or is this talking to witnesses and suspects?
