4 Cars Burglarized, Airbags and GPS Navigations Stolen

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — A number of cars were broken into over the last night and were burglarized causing thousands of dollars in damage. The incidents all concentrated around the vicinity of President Street and Albany Avenue.

More pictures and tips in the Extended Article.

The manner in which the cars were hit appeared to be professional with the thief leaving little evidence of himself behind. The burglar gained access to all the vehicles by smashing the rear passenger window then proceeded to take the airbags and built-in navigation units.

Victims called Shomrim asking for assistance with filing police reports, and police are investigating. Evidence collection team attempted to dusts one of the cars for prints.

Gadi Hershkop, a coordinator in Shomrim offered the following tips to car owners, park in well lit areas, never leave any items or bags in the car, never leave portable GPS units or stands affixed to your windshield, and the use of a ‘club’ would greatly discourage a thief from striking your car since he would look for easier targets.

Question: ‘Does ‘Dina De Malchusa Dina’ apply when the govt. permits thieves and burglars to be incarcerated and released over 20 times?
Derric Nelson only spends about 30-90 days on Rikers Island and is released to traumatize our community.
A car, new or old, that has its window(s) broken in rainy or snowy weather could see its resale value decrease due to damage.
Some repeat victims are forced to spend hundreds on ‘On Site Window Repair’ insurance or travel, wait in line, and then spend hundreds to fix one or more windows. This could result in further monetary loss due to job lateness.
Where are our rights? What about the ‘Universal Declaration of Human Rights?’
The lawmakers probably have driveways and garages. They’re not touched by this.
This is America? This is Somalia, no law and order.
For some, this is He-l on Earth.
