New Rash of Car Break-ins, Nelsons M.O. at Play

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — Nelsons signature returns alongside a new rash of auto break-ins. Over Shabbos a car was broken into on Montgomery Street and a portable navigation unit was stolen and on Sunday night another car was broken into on Albany Avenue and Empire Boulevard. Each of these incidents had Crown Heights’s most notorious auto larcenist, Terrence Nelson, signature all over it.

More in the Extended Article.

Both Shomrim and the last of Nelsons victim confirmed that he is in fact on the loose, Shomrim sighted him on Monday afternoon roaming the streets of Crown Heights, and followed him for over an hour. The last known victim received a phone call from the District Attorney informing him that he was on the loose.

In the last incident Nelson had escalated to violence when he pulled out a knife on the Bochur whose car he was in the midst of robbing when he walked up on him. The DA enlisted the help of Shomrim to pull together all past crimes he has been arrested for and a number of Shomrim members testified in attempt to put Nelson away for more than his typical 30 to 90 day stays in jail.

Both the last victim and other victims expressed anger at the DA for their apparent lack of care for how much damage Nelson has caused and continues to. One resident expressed anger and accused the DA of practically being “useless and incompetent” adding “this is more than just breaking a car window, its already a quality of life concern.”

A call to the Brooklyn DA’s public information office was not returned.

Shomrim has given a number of tips to car owners, among them was not to leave anything at all in your car, wipe your windshield of any marks left by a navigation units suction cup mount, and not leave the mount itself as well, and to keep an extra eye out and call Shomrim if you see Nelson up to no good.

In case of an emergency always call 911 and Shomrim at (718) 774-3333 24/7.

Suspect, Terrence Nelson

All victims of auto break-ins please stop complaining!
You should be glad you live in America and not some
    Banana Republic, dictatorship.
Stop feeding me the ”Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness “ line, (Even though it is one of the most famous phrases in the United States Declaration of Independence. These three aspects are listed among the ”inalienable rights” of man.)
After all, I don’t have to suffer the pain or pay
    for the damage.
    Signed,
    Your Loving Lawmakers

  • california rox bc i live there!

    to confused:
they did arrest him, a number of times already!! But the annoying thing is, he has been in jail max 90 days!!
maybe max 90 years would serve him good… who agrees?

  • Best idea

Easy solution: He looks like he is very tired from all his hard work and needs a vacation. Everybody should chip in and buy him a one way ticket to a nice warm sunny place as far as the money will send him.

    California? Hawaii? Austrailia?

Is he a police informant who is protected from anything beyond a slap on the for his thievery? Perhaps someone should post signs with is photograph throughout the neighborhood asking for confirmation of this suspicion.

  • BEWARE!

gr8 idea lets put up BEWARE signs with a picture of this animal!! maybe then with his face haunting him all around he might stop or he might get arrested faster!!

Someone broke into my car on Monday night and stole coins and a binocular set – I called 911 – a back window was broken and I just had it fixed today. I was parked in a back alley on Crown between Kingston and Brooklyn. That would be great if we could send him far away – preferably somewhere remote!

I was robbed badly in CH, some 10 years ago! Everything I owned was in the car, I was between apartments so I had to leave my belongings for a couple of days, and two blacks were seen breaking in at 6 am, they vandalized the car, and the witness called the cops who didn’t even show up. WHen I came around a couple of hours later, the witness told me what happened, I called the cops, they drove by, didn’t even get out of the car to give me comfort, or pretend to care, a young woman from another country, who lost EVERYTHING!
