Drunk Creep Harasses Woman in Lefferts Park

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — A surprisingly warm winter Monday afternoon, brought many women to Lefferts Park with their children. To the their dismay, a homeless man also chose to hang around the playground. A Black male, approximately 30-years old, was seen walking around with a beer bottle in a bag. He proceeded to ask the women for money, as well as offering his services to ‘baby-sit’ their children. Shomrim was called, and a number of members responded.

After identifying the suspect, Shomrim followed the man, and observed him ‘starting up’ with a number of black women upon leaving the park. A short while later he returned to the park, only to be stopped by police officers who had been summoned by the Shomrim members.

The individual turned out to be from a different neighborhood and police issued him two summonses: one for the open beer bottle and the second, for having alcohol in a park. NYPD also checked if he had any warrants out for his arrest. After determining that he had no open warrants, the police sent him on his way, warning him to keep away from the park.

    There has been a problem in lefferts park for a long time, that there are creepy homeless types hanging aroung. Parks in other parts of the city have signs hanging up that say only people with children can be there. We need this to happen and be enforced. Maybe close off the chilrens play areas for this and allow those people to sit on the other side.

    anon I agree! there are so many pple just hanging out there often times playing their music loudly!!My kids love the park but sometimes I just dont like to go there! It would be great to have it as a childrens only area!!!

    Quit being so racist, I know you have problems with african americans in CH but no need to make openly racist comments, they wont help anyone, just so you know I was unfortunate enough to have a guy ‘expose’ himself to me whilst I was walking alone and he was very much white! Wasnt there an article on CH.info a while back about a chabad african american family? if they read your comment, how alienated do you think they would feel? Think before you post.

    other than the open beer (that’s a crime?) what did he do wrong? ask questions to strangers? acted tipsy? hmnmm. couldn’t there be a huge # of arrests of light skinned people of jewish descent on many times of the year in many places in this ‘hood?

    I certainly understand why some people might prefer he not be there, but forcing him to leave in the name of the law is stretching it.

    T S you liberal fool. First, yes its a crime to have an open container of alcohol on the street, and its an additional offense to to have it in a park. Second, what would it take to push that drunk man to expose himself to any of the woman or children? he was already trying to engage them… I guess when your 4 year old walks into your house and tells you that some man exposed himself to her, and you find out this happened in a park where there were other children, you wouldn’t care, until then you will say “well on purim jewish people get drunk too”.

    People like you are repulsive. I only wish you see the seriuseness of this before you or your family becomes a victim.
