CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — Erev Shabbos a Shomrim member was alerted to a Black man who exposed himself to a Jewish woman on East New York Avenue near the Shuk, the member called for backup and police assistance in locating the pervert.

Numerous Shomrim members responded and began searching for the perv, who had fled down Kingston towards Kings County Hospital, and a police officer who was posted at the corner called for backup as well and had police take the victim for a canvass in the area as well, but the perp was not found.

Thank you for keeping us informed. It’s definitely valuable info to keep in mind, as we walk the streets of our ‘hood.

  • Yudell

“Black male in his mid 20’s, tall slim build and was wearing a jacket with a large jersey style number on his back.”

-I think I saw him like 100 times today. That description is just about only to the exclusion of being white, fat and/or female.

  • LM

Our dear children also look at your website. Why expose them to such things? With this kind of news, what makes your site any different from the non-Jewish websites we try shield our children from?

  • Upset at this sick person.

Sick, just sick. What’s wrong with people.
This person should be put away, or at least the next time he tries something like that, someone should beat him. That will teach him.

  • Is it the same guy?

Was he wearing sunglasses … there was a guy with the same description who approached me and he was really strange… I starting running away!!

  • disgusted

i agree with LM totally. these our

    are kids, our special chassidishe

    kinderlach!!!

    how can crownheights.info speak about

such topics which our innocent, pure

children our immune to!? we try so

hard to shield them from inappropiate

    behavior and here a lubavitch,

    supposedly appropiate website which c

onnects out of towners to know what is

happening in the shchunah is displaying

    such derogatory news!?

there has to be a sollution!

(besides the fact that there must be

something done about this guy bbbecause

    this certanly can not continue)

  • Rach

    TO LM
Would you want you or your child to be the “next victim”? Posting this on Ch.info puts others on alert so the guy can be caught.

And btw, this IS a news website…

  • Yosef

    To LM:
This information is as important as any other news that pertains to the security of Crown Height’s residents.
If you haven’t yet found the courage to educate your children of predator’s conduct and what warrants a call to the police, then I suggest you keep your internet account locked on chabad.org… if Itche Kaduzy isn’t too violent.

  • Not wearing rosy coloured glasses.

LM, how could you prefer it that we are not told about such a thing? I would hate it for my daughter to come home telling me she saw a man’s genitals (that were not her husbands). I was actually flashed in one of my first weeks in CH. Corner of President and Kingston. He was standing in the phone box and turned around, and there it was. I was 19. I didn’t know about Shomrim then. It will be forever ingrained in my mind as a reminder to keep safe.

Unfortunately, without even being told about this we should be on alert, this is the world we live in. Children must be educated about such things to protect them for insane, sick people. It is to guard themselves as best as possible in the outside world.

CH.info thank you and please continue to keep us alerted. We don’t need to be reminded that these things can happen when attending a levaya chas’v’shalom.
Is there a way to organize self defense classes for all ages. It is greatly needed.

  • protecting our children

true that we need to protect our children ,but if your children are old enough to read this websight then they are old enough to be made aware of being careful of such unfortunate things (which do exist )and to be informed that if this happens to please inform a responsible adult right away-thats called protecting our children-not by digging our head in the dirt and pretending that these things just dont happen!

  • another mom

“Our dear children also look at your website. Why expose them to such things? With this kind of news, what makes your site any different from the non-Jewish websites we try shield our children from?”

forgive me for being so blunt…there is nothing sick about the article that at least I can find…no details or sick descriptions…just a warning to be careful…so RELAX…and are you telling me that you don’t talk to your kids about such predators?? that is even more alarming!

  • kgm

i appreciate the unbelievable work done by shomrim, and they definately should be commended publicly for it, but however, an article with such content isn’t really appropiate to belong in a website telling us news of our shchuna.

  • greatful

im glad you guys that dont agree with this article find it easy to assume what is supposed to be posted on this site.
    thank you for posting this!

  • Eli

Actually, LM is absolutely correct but pointing the finger of blame in the wrong direction. It’s about time
we heeded the lesson fully absorbed
by the entire chareidi community except chabad: Zero access to the internet for all our children. Period.

  • A MOM WITH CHSSIDISHE CHILDREN TOO

    ATT LM:

I UNDERSTAND WHY YOU MIGHT FEEL IT HARMFUL FOR YOUR INNOCENT CHASSIDISHE CHILD TO BE READING SUCH THINGS – IT IS NATURAL FOR A MOTHER TO WANT TO SHIELD HER CHILD FROM THINGS OF THE GROWNUP WORLD

BUT WHAT YOU DONT REALIZE IS THAT YOUR CHILD IS ALREADY EXPOSED OR PRETTY SOON WILL BE, IF NOT BY HER/HIS PARENTS BY THEIR FRIENDS – AND JUST FOR YOU I THINK YOU’D RATHER IT FROM YOU FIRST

AND I THINK YOU WOULD ALSO RATHER THEM READ AN ARTICLE ON CROWN..TS.INFO

    (WHICH IS WORDED PRETTY SHELTERDLY)

CONCERNING THIS PROBLEM THEN BE CONFRONTED BY IT. I RESPECT YOUR WILL FOR KEEPING YOUR KIDS IN THE SAFE CACOON OF INNOCENCE LIKE MOST OF US DO, BUT YOU GOTTA DO WHAT YOU GOTTA DO ;)

  • We must protect our children

LM, warnings such as this articles IS PROTECTING OUR CHILDREN!! I talk to my children about not letting anyone touch their privates frum or not, especially before they go to camp. So if you really want to protect your children, make them aware of these maniacs and warn them of such sick ppl.

  • Better safe than sorry

to KGM: “an article with such content isn’t really appropiate to belong in a website telling us news of our shchuna.”

Hello where have u been in the last century-“our schuna” is in danger and so are we-the ones who live in that shcuna-we must protect ourselves and more importantly our children by teaching them about what to look out for. This reminds me of the article written about r”l the people who took their life and\or did-do drugs and are part of our community. I think its time to realize we NEED to talk to our kids about it and not hide it. its better to have it out in the open than keeping it all bottled up.

  • mmm

Actually I think many in chabad already don`t give there children acces to the internet, but as you can see, some people cant use such a “harsh” tool to protect their “dear children”. instead they expect the internet to adapt to their needs. well, wake up! the internet is full of bad content, this may even be the best content your dear child saw today! if you really want to protect your dear children by koshernet (koshernet.com) and then add any jewish sites that you feel are not kosher enough. (by the way, in most chabad homes children anyways dont have access to news, that should include news sites. not to say children don`t have to be aware of potential danger)

  • 2 eli dont chose what you want to follow

I love how you place all the blame on children what about you! if we r going to follow lessons that our “fully absorbed by the entire chareidi community” so then you shouldn’t be using the internet except for work not for news (this site) not for weather not for nothing (and even for work it is only after you asked rav and he says you can do it)

  • me

    well said Yosef!
i was about to say the same thing. If u dont want ur chasidishe kinderlach to see these info just bock the website and let them be caugh one day

  • debbie

I DO NOT, AS A NURSE UNDERSTAND WHAT KIND OF PARENTS want to keep their “holy” children protected from such news.Your poor innocent children,Heaven forbid, may not know many things and therefore are vulnerable to predators and psychotic individuals.i agree the internet has many things not suitable but this kind of information needs to be taught so children know what to do if they ever encounter this instead of keeping it a secret because their ignorant parents want it to.If I don’t hear it,then it never happened. That is what happens in frum communities when adults do not protect children or educate them! The “secrets” continue to harm children and predators know they can get away with it.Are you parents or just interested in your image or keeping your children “innocent”?I know shluchim who told their kids they will never meet such sick individuals- How stupid is that?So they won’t worry?

  • Amy

To disgusted: You are the reason so many of these sickos get away with harming children and live freely amongst the community. You live in some sort of cocoon that enables the perps to continue their behavior especially in religious areas where “nobody talks”.Children must know what is out there so they can be empowered and knowledgeable. If adults do not teach them how to be aware and what to do to keep safe, then they are guilty and it is a sin.Things CV’ happen but we do try and inform others so they know.To know what is going on and say nothing to others? This is such an “aveiro”.

  • Eli

people in chareidi communities all over the world are no less worried about the safety of their children
than we are, yet none of them would resort to the kind of warped logic that says that we should expose our kids to the vilest filth so that they know what’s out there. It’s a
goyish way of thinking that has no precedent in the annals of chasidic/halachic thought.

  • debbie

to eli: who said anything about exposing kids to filth? Do you not see the difference between simple explanations and telling kids what to do and exposing them to “filth”? And you truly must live in some box or you would know what goes on in the Chareidi world too.Just see what the social workers in Israel have to say and they aren’t “goyish”.You are pretending very hard that these things never happened in Chassidishe communities which only reinforces the lack of logic here on your part. There is a huge difference between educating and empowering a child and exposing them to “filth”.Your notion of “goyish” thinking is no different than living in la-la land. The the poor parents in many communities who have had such people in their own shuls, these are not “goyish”matters.Knowledge is power. But people are scared to talk and forever worried about what others will think and not telling their kids a little something-such as not trusting everyone etc etc.You are more of the problem than the solution.!!

  • Eli

    Debbie,

Your comments completely miss the point.Of course children ought to be
informed about the dangers lurking in their midst. It’s the SOURCE of
that information that is at issue here: Children should be getting the facts from their parents who can be trusted to present them in a responsible and tactful manner, and not from an unregulated website that
contains the kinds of comments appearing on this thread.

  • WTVR

your heiliker chassidisher kinderlach are reading these comments too
so arguing about the dummest things is a stupid idea
