Sorry to hear.
Never carry all your money in one place. Never carry a wallet in a back pocket if it has no button or is open.

This is very bad that someone stole from a bachour. We should watch where we put our wallet and stuff . Because this is very serious. We dont want people getting hurt .Especially yidin!!!!

that’s beautiful that his fellow jews genuinely care enough to donate their own money.
the moral of the story is that one should not carry around so much cash.

Many guests have no where to keept their valuables so they carry it around. They are just given a mattress to sleep on in the dorm or elsewhere with another hundred bochurim or so and leave their suitcases near their mattresses. A bochur once asked me whether he can leave his wallet with me over yom tov because he had no where to hide it.
And notwithwithstanding all these stories, Crown Heights is Kan Tziva Hashem Es Habracha. Things happen everywhere. The safety of our neighborhood is all a matter of how the police in our precinct respond. Nothing else.
LOVE CROWN HEIGHTS IN TISHREI
IN ANSWER TO “FED UP”, A RESOUNDING
Y E S I ABSOLUTELY LOVE CROWN HEIGHTS IN TISHREI. I WAIT FOR IT ALL YEAR. IT GIVES ME THE INSPIRATION TO BE ABLE TO WITHSTAND EVERYTHING ELSE THAT GOES ON IN MY LIFE THE REST OF THE YEAR.
AS FOR THE POOR BOCHUR WHO LOST HIS MONEY, ONE SHOULD CARRY A FEW DOLLARS IN HIS WALLET AND THE REST IN ANOTHER POCKET (PREFERABLY AN INSIDE JACKET POCKET) THIS WAY THE CULPRIT DOESN’T GET ANGRY AT NOT GETTING ANYTHING AND YOU DON’T LOSE MORE THAN A FEW SINGLES.
I TOO WOULD LIKE TO CONTRIBUTE TO COMPENSATE FOR HIS LOSS.

DISGUSTING and to all you stupid people ready to give up ur community to a couple of stupid little black kids HOW DARE YOU!!!
this is OUR NEIGHBORHOOD!! why should we have to walk around with $5 b/c we are afraid to get held up?!!
that is no answer!!
that is defensive smart idea, but its also saying we give up take our money we walk around knowing you own rights to our community and we are prisoners in our own community!!
we need to stand together and fix the problem not walk around with our heads low and pockets empty…
Police Shomrim Shmira Community, BE ONE and FIGHT THE DAMN PROBLEM! ON KINGSTON!!!! this is what it has come to! we cant walk down kingston with more than $5???? does that make sense???
