Man Robbed and Assaulted, Perp Arrested
CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] —- Wednesday, at around 5:45pm, a yungerman pushing a stroller was ‘held-up’ in an alleyway. The incident took place in the alleyway between Carroll and Crown, Kingston and Albany, where a Black male approached the yundgerman, stated he had a gun, and demanded money.
The Black male had his hand in a plastic bag and said he had a gun, the yungerman who was stunned did not immediately respond, prompting the mugger to attack him and punch him in face, dropping the bag that was over his hand, revealing that he in fact did not have a gun, the mugger then grabbed the yungerman’s bag, which contained his cellphone, and digital camera then fled down the alleyway.
The victim then began shouting ‘chaptzem’ and chasing the mugger down the alleyway, in the meantime Shomrim received multiple calls stating the unknown circumstances and calls for ‘chaptzem’ prompting many Shomrim units to respond to the scene.
Over the next few minutes the mugger seemed to have evaded capture and gotten away, when Shomrim received a call from someone saying that he was in pursuit of the mugger, who matched the original description.
By the time Shomrim members arrived, police were already on scene and were searching for the mugger, eventually catching him on Carroll Street and Albany Avenue as he was trying to gain entry into an apartment building, the arrest was made by Sergeant Clark and PO Mimms.
Police then brought the victim over to identify the mugger, which he did and the mugger was placed under arrest. The stolen property was returned and BH no one was hurt.
CrownHeights.info was informed later on that the mugger has a long history of robberies, muggings and drug related convictions.
In case of an emergency always call 911 and Shomrim at (718) 774-3333 24/7

there should be cops in the alleyways
Confused...
Thats funny… I just read the ‘same’ story on Shmais though with completely different story details. Who to trust?? (Unfortunately probably neither….)
Logitimatichian
Confused, I read that same story on Shmais and to tell you the truth it all sounded like a fluff piece, then I reached the end where it gave credit to the ‘source’ and I understood. This story has a lot more integrity based on the fact that it has solid details.
The saying “don’t believe everything you read”, so between the two, this sounds sounds closest to what actually happend.
no confused anymore
just read same story on shmais..
this site seems more accurate being that they felt no pressure giving credit to the police, when other site, it was ALL shmira??
gertie
why would anyone say they have a gun when they dont its weird
Stunned into a state of Disbelief
These guys are getting really chutzpadik! KINGSTON AVE?!?! you gotta be kidding me! soooooo, anyone else think its time to take “appropriate” action???
abba steinhauser
I really think i’ts two different stories.
face facts
a member of our comunity actualy chased the guy and recognized him when the idiot came out the buildibg he put him in a head lock and police took it from there before any organizations showed up!!!
Mendel
where are the cameras the CHJCC promised?

HEY FACTS:
if you would read the article it says clearly that Shomrim showed up after the cops where searching the mugger. when you have a legit organization theres no need to fake stories for publicity…
confused
i too read both stories and when i tried putting comments on the other sight questioning the acuracy, they dont even post it???
batya
BS”D
its the same story
i was walking down kingston when the
commotion was happening, and i saw the
perp running down on the alley btw president and carroll (the one behind the 1414 dorm) it was broad daylight!!!
could u believe?
then the yid who was attacked was running pushing the stroller after the cops, and eventually with the cops and
yes with the stroller.
MADD
the shmais owner and editor does not live in crown heights and does not whats actually going on and being pro- shmira relies on the shmira for “their” information. you get my piont.

They should have thrown him in the mikvah.

To all of you questioning the story
I read CH.info every day but i think this time they just missed it.
A picture is worth a million words. why not trust the article that had the story as it was breaking with all the pictures, rather then the story that was published about 48 hours after with no pictures, which BTW they admit that they were not present at the time, while on Shmais they claim they were there and have pictures to prove it – why would they want to change the story anyway, since they were the first to post it?! –
I do agree i tried to comment on the other site and they would not publish it, hope this site will

Someone was just mugged and thank G-D the mugger was caught. SHame on you MADD for turning this into a political fight. How many Jews have to get hurt before the politics ends
more brains
brains, your right about ch.info missing it on this one, but like you say, a picture is worth a million words but when I looked at those pictures ill be frank and honest, there was a grand total of two people from that other organization there, so you tell me, they did all that on their own? Pictures only tell the story that the caption beneath them say, along with the angle a photographer would choose, so in this case it boils down to facts and they are that both groups were there, as it seems none of them made the actual arrest, it was police officers Clarke and Mimms as CHinfo says, and the locations were radically different on each site, now I was there when the commotion started and I know that it was in the alleyway, and not president and kingston at the intersection, proving more accuracy and information.
so from what I see is one group just trying to capitalize on misinformation and Ill tell you one thing for certain, I know who will be passing around the ‘tzedakkah pushka’ for money in shul this Shabbos.
