  • Don't care anymore

I never cared about the eruv and don’t need one.. but starting this week I’m going to openly carry in protest of the Shanda that is 770.

    • Very smart

By that logic, you should carry a ham sandwich and smoke at the same time.
      ….
How does the crisis in 770 allow you to brake halacha?

    • Yossel

To “very smart…” It’s “break” not “brake.” Brake is what stops your automobile.”

  • Thank you

This needed to be said. I see so many people carrying on Shabbos, it’s horrible. Why don’t people care about breaking Shabbos?

The rabbis should do some internal analysis why so many people on the community ignore them

    • The law

We don’t have to comply with community standards, when they know they have an opinion contrary to accepted common law Judaism. The Eruv of Brooklyn; of which at this point are 10 or more, has been commonly accepted as true and existing (Mind you, that this is ALL ON A ISLAND; which was NEVER Reshus Harabim in the history of common Jewish law).

Halalcha says that Daas Baal Habatim is Heipech Daas Torah. That’s for someone who actually learns, knows and cares about Halacha. Someone who bases their opinion on so-called intelligence, common sense and simple logic, isn’t even addressed in Halacha.

In any other field, like medicince, you’d be totally laughed at, for some strange reason when it comes to Halacha people have no shame or sense.
