BREAKING: Vaad Hakohol Election – The Results Are In

Hundreds of Crown Heights residents turned out Sunday for the first election for the Vaad Hakohol of Crown Heights in fourteen years. Following a successful voting day, the election results are in.

Congratulations to the following candidates:

Zalman Friedman, Dovid Halon, Berel Hildeshaim, Yitzie Kamman, Meir New, and Shmuel Rosenstein.

Update 12:30am: Total votes cast in this election was 1811, according to the election committee.

Update 12:20am: The following is the vote count;

Above the 51% Requirement:

Friedman 86%
Halon 80%
Hildesheim 93%
Kamman 55%
New 91%
Rosenstein 86%

Below the 51% Requirement;

Goldstein 32%
Woolstone 41%

    So now there is a Vaad of newbies who think they know the score. They will soon find that they don’t. The whole learning process will go on for years until somebody screams for new elections. PS: the bylaws of the CHJCC continue to be a deep dark secret. And there was no vetting for possible conflicts of interest.

    It’s a pity they didn’t have the seichel to vote in Rabbi Woolstone.

    He could probably be of great benefit to the community.
