With Upcoming Crown Heights Special Election, United Crown Heights Encourages The Community to Vote

With the upcoming election for the vacated seat of Assemblywoman Diana Richardson, which covers Crown Heights, Crown Heights United has published a letter encouraging everyone to vote, as the election provides the community with a unique opportunity.

Dear Resident,

As many of you are aware, former Assemblywoman Diana Richardson resigned from the Assembly to become the Deputy Borough President.

On Tuesday, March 22, 2022, Yud Tes Adar II, there will be a special election to fill her seat. In a special election, everyone who is registered to vote, regardless of party affiliation, is eligible to vote for any candidate from any party. It does not matter if you are registered Democrat, Republican or Independent. Everyone can vote.

Given the importance that the Assembly plays in our day to day lives for things like public safety, bail reform, or Yeshiva education, to just name a few, United Crown Heights will be making an endorsement for this election in consultation with local Askonim and Mosdos closer to the election date.

Special elections typically have a low voter turnout. Therefore, this will be a unique opportunity for our community to come together and influence the outcome of the election.

We encourage everyone to please save the date, and to come out and vote to help ensure that our concerns are being heard.
