Letter Reveals Subterfuge and Lies During Braun Installation
A letter from Rabbi Amram Klein of Ungvar revealed a troubling behind the scenes look at the ‘installation ceremony’ of Rabbi Yosef Braun last week. The letter was addressed to Rabbi Avrohom Osdoba, who boycotted the event, apologizing to him for his attendance at the ceremony, saying he was duped into it.
In his letter Rabbi Klein wrote “I attended the event not knowing at all that you opposed it. Especially after I asked the person who invited me if there was some sort of politic or opposition, and he assured me that everyone agreed to the event in unison, and based on that I attended.”
Free Translation:
In continuation to our phone conversation, I am writing to you in connection to my attendance at the Hachtorah ceremony of Harav Braun, without any knowledge that you oppose it. Especially after [unnamed] who invited me to the event, I had asked him if there was any kind of politic or some sort of opposition. And if that was the case I did not want to attend, and he assured me that everyone agrees and supports the ceremony in unison, and based on that I attended.
Since, after the event, I received a phone call from [erased] who was incredulous over my attendance, and especially that it was against your instruction and others on the Beis Din, I stood in amazement. And on this we say Vidiu on the sins that we do knowingly and unknowingly. And because of this I announce to you again that I did not know at all whatsoever that you opposed it, and of course I would not have gone to the ceremony against the instructions of Rabonim.
May Hashem have mercy on us and forgive us for our sins and we shall not be embarrassed and not shy and not fail ever again, until the merciful will send us moshiach, and make peace on us and all Israel.

R. Osdoba permitted the event the morning of that day – it is impossible to follow someone who changes and clarify himself intra-day. There was absolutely no fault here and I see artificial drugging of machlokes. Someone had to show to Rav Klain – do you know, Rav Klain, just 2 hours before hacktora R. Rabbi Osdoba is the only one of the Rabbonim on whom the Rebbe MH”M said
Abir Shezb’abirim. Not on Rabbi Scwei was it said or on Rabbi Braun. The only one we should be listening to is Rabbi Osdoba. It pleases me to see that Rabbi Amram Klein of Ungvar wrote this letter explaining his presence. However I still am very puzzled by his behavior, appearing in 770, and sitting at a head table yet, and getting up and speaking there.
Years ago I davened a bit in the Ungvar shul in BP, and met him and his esteemed father, and they clearly view the Meshichist position about the Rebbe coming back as Moshiach as a terrible aberration and perversion of Yiddishkeit.
How then could he ever think of attending any event at 770 with it’s crazy Meshichist signs all over the shul and sit quietly by at the recital of Yechi?!

A letter was given from one person to another. Obviously one of those two people “leaked” it. The question is who did it.
It is obvious to me that it was “leaked” to bolster up a point or a side. I would also rule out Rabbi Klein for leaking it, as he has no interest/need to prove a point/side, therefore it is quiet clear where the letter came from. All I can is, give up, a Rav gave a P’sak, written quite clearly, so you lost, people loose Dinie Torah every day. Get on with your life.

I spoke to a friend of mine (who does not want to be named publicly because he has no interest in Lubavitch politics one way or another), who was actually THERE when Rabbi Tzinner farhered Rabbi Braun. (He was working as Rabbi Tzinner’s assistant). He was one of the witnesses who spoke to Rabbi Rosenberg, and he told me that he himself scanned and emailed Rabbi Braun the original document.
