CROWN HEIGHTS [CHI] — Two neighbors standing outside their Montgomery Street homes and having a chat became victims of six police officers, who piled out of a van and accused them of drinking in public. The officers demanded their identifications and recorded their information.

CROWN HEIGHTS [CHI] — Two neighbors standing outside their Montgomery Street homes and having a chat became victims of six police officers, who piled out of a van and accused them of drinking in public. The officers demanded their identifications and recorded their information.

The incident took place last night, Motzai Shabbos, where the two yungerman were smoking and having a drink of orange juice together in the entryway of their house. A police van passed by, then stopped, and six police officers jumped out and began questioning the duo if there was alcohol in their cups.

After inspecting the drink, which did not contain alcohol, the officers took their identification and wrote down their information, saying “I took your name down because I stopped you and talked to you.”

Part of the encounter was captured on video by one of the victims.

This incident is similar to another incident which took place last Motzai Shabbos where a Bochur was threatened with arrest for not carrying his ID.

    Here in CH they act like big shots ’cause they know they won’t get harmed physically by a Yid. I’m willing to bet that if these same drekkishe cops were based in Bed Stuy they would meekly continue on their way were they to observe a couple of schwartze’s hanging out in front of their house, because they know they’ll get their heads blown off.

    This is standard protocol everywhere…. I was filming a video outside in weschester county NY and they needed ID and wrote down my info just incase I was a terrorist they would have me in the system. It seems the police do this now as rgular protocol. But whats wrong if your drinking alchol on your own patio.

    This is comical!!! It is as if they have nothing important to do!Just last night while walking with my husband and son on albany and president, a van came flying down albany avenue and took the right turn onto president street so recklessly that it almost ran us over while we were walking. There was a cop car parked right on the corner(as there usually is) with 2 cops in it and they did not even flinch, they just sat there calmly and continued talking! Explain to me: What good are they if they dont bother with the important stuff only with this nonsense?

    Have you ever thought on moving to Israel. It seems not! Usually no comments on CrownHeights.info indicate this option.     Your comment is, at best, extremely naive. Only suspicious characters conducting suspicious activities are supposed to be apprehended and questioned. The ‘law enforcers’ knew very well who they were harrassing. If pursuit of law and order was solely for the purpose of showing this distorted view of political correctness, then for every criminal arrested, a law abiding Jew would also have to be, G-d forbid. A very telling aspect to all this is the fact that this targeting is only happening to religious Jews here and not to white non-Jews (so far). The good news though is that we are in America and the community is not likely to stand for this much longer.

    its called SAFETY. when the police see people loitering after nightfall they have a right to stop them and ask what they’re doing. it makes complete sense to write down they’re names. if there is an incident 5 mins later it is valueable for the police to have a record of who was hanging around and why. these men werent arrested or fined or given sumonses. they were just asked what they were doing. that is police doing their job.

    I feel better walking the streets of CH knowing that the cops spot people who are loitering and make sure that they are not up to trouble.
