Winners in New York State Major Races
BROOKLYN [CHI] — As ballots closed around the country, much of the political landscape was left altered in ways not seen in over 80 years. The GOP retook control of the House, and won key victories in the senate, yet still falling short for a majority. In New York the picture turned out much different.
Governor: Andrew Cuomo (D) defeated Carl Paladino (R) in a decisive 61% versus 34%.
AG: Eric Schneiderman (D) defeated Dan Donovan (R) 55% versus 43%
Comptroller: Thomas DiNapoli (D) defeated Harry Wilson (R) 49% versus 47%
U.S. Senate: Charles Schumer (D) defeated Jay Townsend (R) 62% versus 32%
House: Yvette Clarke (D) defeated Hugh Carr (R) 90% versus 9%
N.Y. Senate: Eric Adams (D) defeated Allan Romaguera (R) 91% versus 8%
N.Y.S Assembly 43rd Dist.: Karim Camara defeated Menachem Raitport (R/I) 91% versus 8% – with Camara receiving 16,068 votes, while Raitport received 1,496.

What’s going to be? We’ll double our avodah in davening and asking Hashem for Moshiach to come since we all know that G-d, and not politicians, runs the world.

What? “Not seen in over 80 year?”
Last I checked, the previous House of Representatives had 257 Democrats and 178 Republicans… and that election occurred in 2008, 2 years ago, not 80 years ago.

Typical new york liberals & idiots while paladino was a wild one the shock is you idiots complain but yet if a horse was running for election with a d next to it’s name Majority of NYC voters at least would vote for it ! even though it’s a horse but it’s a democrat horse!!!
Woof
Once again NYer’s are smart enough not to bite the hand that feeds them.

The hard working tax paying citizens that are struggling to survive without drowning in the sea of fed income tax, state inc tax, city inc tax, realestate tax, and taxes and fees on clothes, electric, gas, water, phones etc etc etc
Should there be a safty net for families that cant afford food and rent absolutly yes!
Should there be handouts for jobs that produce nothing unemployment for people that dont look for jobs or collect while working off the books?
Just Sayin-
I guess people realized that tax cuts won’t pay for unemployment or the fourteen trillion dollar debt.
To #5: What hasn’t been see in 80 years is such an extreme swing in power during an individual election. The analysis is not on how many seats belong to one party, but on how many seats switched parties.

#4 is right, only hashem runs the world, although it would be nice to openly see it with the pol
This is why the PAC endorsed Camara
why risk straining relations with the guy who is definitely gonna win?

To continue that, should government officials give sweet-heart deals to state and city unions in return for votes?
Does it make sense for bus drivers, toll collectors and garbagemen to be paid over 100K / year including pension? No. They should get a reasonable wage but this far exceeds anything that could possibly be called reasonable.

“why risk straining relations with the guy who is definitely gonna win?”
This is politics, yesterdays opponent becomes todays running mate.
People endorse candidates all the time, even if they loss does not mean the other candidate will ignore them.
If we would bring out at-least 3000 maybe 6000 (if everybody was registered – which BTW is something that must be worked on), votes, then even if we loss, we show we have a strong community; a strong block. The winning candidate will come to us as a result to work with us.
When all we can bring is 1,600 for one of our own, the winner looks and says ‘these people are nothing”.
chloe
whomever it is should realize what situation we are all in, and be a fair and decent representative. HONEST and fair, please
G-d.
Crown Heights Sucks with Voting
Sadly its actually about only 600 new votes (Jewish Votes) that came out this time. Every elections at-least a 1000 vote for republican.
Disappointed
I did notice at the President/Bklyn polls there were less than a handful of yidden at prime voting hour (right after ppl get off work).
ch... voting dont go together
srry to say, but in ch , the amount of votes he got is amazing! crown hights NEVER votes !!!! he got tons of votes!
